The Team
We're forming multiple AI Agent teams across three strategic tracks: Growth, Customer Value, and App Platform to build the future of AI-powered agreements creation and management at PandaDoc.
The teams’ mission is to enable users to create and manage business documents—like contracts, quotes, and proposals—quickly and intelligently with the help of large language models and our internal AI platform.
As a Back-End Engineer on this team, you’ll play a key role in designing and building the systems that power these new experiences. That includes integrating with our AI platform, orchestrating multi-step generation workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability, and working closely with front-end and ML engineers to deliver fast, smooth, and secure user flows.
This is a rare chance to work on greenfield initiatives with real product impact and deep technical challenges—from building APIs for smart content generation and management to evolving our models to support AI-first use cases. Our stack
- Service-oriented architecture but be prepared to deal with legacy code as well such as monolithic services based on the Django framework
- Python services are mostly written using AsyncIO frameworks and libraries, but we also have Django-based services with Celery workers under the hood
- Amazon Web Services and K8S are used extensively for provisioning and deploying workloads
- The main cross-service communication transports are NATS, gRPC, Kafka, and RabbitMQ
- Prometheus/Grafana stack for monitoring and alerting
You'll be a perfect fit for our team if you have
- At least 5+ years of development experience with Python
- Experience with the AsyncIO and Django frameworks
- Hands-on experience in developing microservice-based architectures
- Solid proficiency in working with relational databases (SQL queries, migrations, optimization)
- Working knowledge of message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, NATS, Kafka)
- Experience working with LLMs, AI/ML systems, or AI-powered products
- Familiarity with agent frameworks (e.g: LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar)
- Understanding of security best practices for AI systems (prompt injection prevention, data privacy, etc.)
- Practical skills in writing units and end-to-end tests
- Commitment to high-quality code and best engineering practices.
- Empathy for end users and a focus on creating great product experiences
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to product managers, designers, customer support, and other engineers
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
