We offer a comprehensive and expanding array of road trip possibilities: short-term RV rentals, long-term campervan subscriptions, and the possibility of buying one of our vehicles available for sale.
Rooted in a deep technological focus, our challenges are both exciting and demanding and require top talent and motivation to be successfully pursued. We are growing our team and looking for those interested in pursuing this dream with us and joining an ever-developing journey.
THE ROLE
As Indie Campers Senior Automation Engineer you will be embedded in the Tech Org, reporting directly to the CTO, with a clear mandate: accelerate business transformation and AI adoption across all global functions. You will design, build, and scale low-code and AI-driven automations that replace repetitive manual work, surface real-time insights, and create step-change improvements in efficiency and experience.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a builder who thrives on turning ideas into production-ready systems, while quantifying its impact.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
- Own the automation strategy and its implementation within Engineering, Product, Data, and AI teams and in partnership with the remaining business units.
- Design, develop, and maintain n8n workflows that integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, SaaS tools (AirTable, Spendesk, Twilio, Zendesk), internal micro-services, and data warehouses (Athena, BigQuery, Postgres).
- Embed AI everywhere by fine-tuning or prompt-engineering LLMs to classify tickets, run image inference, detect anomalies, summarise calls, draft personalised outreach, and trigger downstream actions.
- Integrate diverse data sources at scale (Datawharehouse, SQL, object storage, telematics from our campervan IoT fleet) to power event-driven automations and dashboards.
- Prototype fast, ship often by delivering minimum-viable automations in days, run A/B or shadow tests, and harden for robustness, observability, and security.
- Champion engineering best practices in low-code environments: version control, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, secrets management, and automated testing.
- Coach and enable other teams by creating internal playbooks, templates, and guardrails so less-technical colleagues can safely build their own flows.
- Evaluate and introduce emerging RPA/AI tools, run POCs, and present recommendations directly to the CTO and senior leadership.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- 5+ years building and operating business-critical automations, with 2+ years delivering production workflows in N8N, Make, Zapier, or comparable low-code platform.
- Demonstrated success integrating multiple data sources and APIs in high-throughput, geographically distributed environments.
- Hands-on experience leveraging LLMs or other AI services to automate decisions or generate content with measurable ROI.
- Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python to extend low-code platforms and comfort with Docker and AWS or GCP cloud fundamentals.
- Familiarity with RPA frameworks (UiPath, Cypress, Robocorp, Robot Framework, etc.) is a plus.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive transformation in a global, cross-functional setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English;
