THE ROLE

We are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our People team. In this critical role, you will take ownership of managing the entire payroll and compensation process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant operations. Reporting directly to the Director of People at our HQ, you will collaborate across departments to optimize organizational efficiency and ensure a seamless experience for our employees.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:

  • Leading the full payroll process, guaranteeing the timely and accurate payment of salaries to employees.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements across payroll and compensation activities.
  • Maintaining and updating employee data in the payroll system, safeguarding the accuracy and confidentiality of all records.
  • Owning statutory Social Security processes, including contributions control, admissions, terminations, and contract administration.
  • Overseeing the tax authority remuneration reporting and ensuring timely compliance with relevant fiscal regulations.
  • Managing annual compliance activities, including the submission of the “Relatório Único.”
  • Coordinating mandatory reporting to external entities, such as workplace accident insurance, ensuring all filings are up to date and accurate.
  • Analyzing payroll data and metrics to provide valuable insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and compensation, offering timely and professional responses.
  • Collaborating with Finance and People teams to streamline and integrate payroll and compensation processes, ensuring seamless operational flow.
  • Developing and enforcing payroll policies and procedures to continuously improve operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Administering employee benefits and rewards programs, ensuring they remain competitive and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Supporting the People team on special projects and providing administrative assistance as needed.

  • Payroll Errors: Target 0%
  • Payroll-Related Employee Inquiries: Target response time of 48 hours

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll administration and compensation management, preferably in an international or multi-site environment.
  • Deep expertise in payroll best practices, labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective support for employees and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems, coupled with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and proactively address challenges.
  • A proven track record of successfully owning projects and driving them to completion.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
